Shop Rouche Necklaces

I'm a sucker for cute necklaces. I really, really like them. I went through a stage in my life that my jewelry box was full of necklaces. Whenever I went to the mall with my mother, I would literally beg to her to buy me a necklace from American Eagle- and sometimes she would sigh and buy me one. I really liked American Eagle necklaces for some odd reason. Some of the necklaces they have are still pretty cute, not going to lie.

Anyways, I discovered Rouche at some point this year, and I fell in love with their necklaces. I also like their other stuff but I'm talking about their necklaces today, soooo. haha.

My favourite is The Garden Moments Necklace ($14.99)
The turquoise-blue ish colour is so pretty. It would look adorable with a simple strapless dress or something of that sort (depending on the length of the necklace). The price is extremely reasonable as well!

Summer Love Necklace  ($15.99)
I just LOVE the pastel colours! Look at them ! They're so adorable. I may not be able to pull of such a cutsy set of colours, but nevertheless, it's adorable to look at. Again, the price is reasonable as well. I like the shapes of the flowers too.

Pearl Beauty Necklace ($24.99)
And of course, pearls. I like how there are pink pearls among the pink ones. It's kind of a surprise "kick" factor. And the shapes of each of the pearls are adorable too. This strand would look so cute on any kind of work clothes (because clearly I think of work clothes lately when I think of fashion...)

Hopeless Romantic Indie Necklace ($39.99)
Probably not my "usual style" but I really like this calm rose-pearl stud combination with the colour of the chain. It's simple and elegant. Though not as "BAM" as a statement necklace, I think it has some quiet regality (is that even a word?) to it. What do you think?

Although I'm working 40+hour weeks this summer and I have some money saved up from past jobs, I'm still a college senior. And that's why places like Rouche, where they have really affordable jewelry that are cute make me fall in love. Not hating, but necklaces at Anthropologie, though breath takingly adorable, are not...wallet friendly to the current Tori, haha. Perhaps if I get a good, steady job someday, I can afford a necklace from there! But Rouche is good because it's so affordable and adorable. I love this shop :)

Which one is your favourite? Are any of you guys a sucker for necklaces like me?

Post 5pm house wear

OOTD- 24 June 2012

J.Crew j crew shorts, $35
J.Crew j crew flip flops, $33
J Crew j crew jewelry, $22
Factory boys' heavyweight slub half-zip pullover, $33

My favourite summer clothing are shorts and flip flops. But lately I just haven't been able to wear them AT ALL since I'm interning 5 days a week. Therefore, when I come home from work, I tend to just slip into shorts to make up for the lost shorts time. I don't really see the point in dressing up and looking glamorous at 9 pm.

I also am a BIG fan of male clothes for casual styles. For example, I'm wearing this half-zip pullover right now and it's not a womens, it's a mens. Actually, it's Crewcuts Boys. Yup. I went there. Apparently, I fit clothing made for 14 year old boys. Hey, no shame in that, right?
(By the way, the bangles that I'm wearing today on my Polyvore is also a Crewcuts piece haha)

It's really important to dress in clothes that you can relax in, especially after a long day, so I tend to dress really casually. I also adore sundresses for after work clothes in the summer :-)

What are your go-to comfortable house wear for after work?

Zoya Maya

Let me just start off this post about how much I love nail polish. I've always been a fan since I was a child, but I really got into it last year. (Although I learned how to do a french manicure when I was 16! Still proud of that!) My friend dragged me into this world called Zoya. And let me tell you this- I literally fell in love.

My current fave is
Zoya Maya, $8

Excuse my disgusting hand. But this is kind of what the actual colour looks like. I'd google "Zoya Maya Swatches" if I were you haha- but the picture that I have here is pretty close to it!
It's a bright pink- not coral but not pink. It's a great colour. I'm wearing two shades of the polish over a base coat.

The application is really easy too- this colour has a nice creamy foundation and goes on smoothly and nicely. Not streaky at all.
What was so great about Zoya Maya was that even without a top coat (I was in a hurry!!), it stays on really great. My other Zoya polishes hold up well, but I think this one is by far the best. I put it on on Saturday last week, and literally nothing chipped until today, Friday. And even today, it was barely a chip.

Definitely worth getting, guys! The colour is great and so is the actual polish.

Would I buy this again? If I ran out of this colour, I definitely would. It's a great summer colour! I'd rate it a 5/5, and an A.

This is not a sponsored post or anything ;-) This is my actual honest opinion of Zoya Maya.

Travel Essentials: Airplane Carry-On's

I love travelling. I went to Spain in January for 10 days and boy, was it great.
I also travel really long distances fairly frequent for a New Englander, I think- I do long distance (like not California long distance, but in the middle of no where on the globe long distance) at least once or twice a year.

I think packing for planes is vital. You can't go too heavy or your shoulders/back will kill you, but you can't go too light that you don't have anything to do on your flight. Packing a carry-on is also an art: you have to fit everything perfectly so that it'll be fast as possible when you go through security! (nothing worse than waiting to go through security for an hour)
Sometimes, I think it's more important than the actual packing since if you're at your destination and you forget something, worse come to worst you can go buy it. However, when you're on a plane, you're actually stuck. You can't do anything about it. So plan carefully, y'all.

Here's what I usually pack for a flight- both long and short flights (clockwise from the Longchamp spiraling into the nano)

Travel Essentials: Airplane

1. Longchamp bag, €75
What I usually bring my stuff in. I travel with the Le Pliage Large, but if you have back problems or will be wandering for a while in the airport etc. I'd suggest you just stick with a backpack. It's a struggle everytime for me.... haha

2. My laptop!!
Bring a couple of movies with you :)

3. Books with Style Style Book: Fashionable Inspirations, $30
A good book. Go with a paperback. Hard covers are fun because they tend to be newer books, but trust  me, you'd definitely want to go as light as possible.

4. Makeup travel bag, $33
Although this isn't the makeup bag I use, I think this is adorable :) (My cousin made me mine!)
I tend to go touch up my makeup right before the plane lands. I usually take the morning flights so I go without make or my contacts (especially since I fly 10+ hours) but before I land, I tend to pull myself together.

5. Aspinal of London Plain Passport Cover, $35
If you're going abroad, I really do hope you'll take your passport with you ;-)
My passport cover is one from Bally that I've been using FOREVER. Literally since I was one or two, I think. It's all worn out but I love it.

Who wouldn't bring a wallet?

Ah the trusty Bath and Body Works! They have travel sized lotions etc. so definitely stop by before you go on a flight. Plane air is usually dry so lotion is always a plus :)

8. BlackBerry Bold 9900 Mobile Phone Black (AT&T), $200
My darling blackberry. Enough said.

9. iPod nano 16GB pink APPLE, £129
I have the old nano but I never go on a trip without my iPod. Airport wait time is so much better with music, don't you think!

What do you bring with you onto the plane?

Also, if you ever have questions or post requests for me, email me at classicloving [at] gmail.com. Or you can just email me in general! haha

Summer weather!

Hello hello!
These past two days were intensely, intensely hot days. I literally thought that I would melt.
I ate lunch outside with the other interns yesterday and I felt like I would pass out! Mid 90's! Who would've thought! I had to work today so I escaped (haha) the heat today but alas since tomorrow is a Friday, I don't think I can get away from going outside for lunch...
Funny how you're literally dying for the summer in the winter but then when it's actually hot out you want to go back inside ;)

I've literally been dying for heat-proof clothes. And in the summer, I naturally gravitate towards dresses and skirts. I think I've only worn pants once in this past month. Not sure if I got the point across, but I really dislike the heat.

OOTD:

Dress: Forever 21, Belt: Forever 21, Flats: Jack Rogers

I got this dress for my sorority but it ended up becoming a work dress :) The material is really nice and since it covers my shoulders I don't need to bring a cardigan with me= less heat, less things to carry ;)

In case you were wondering, that is what the pink-ish looking dots on the dress are: hearts.
How adorable is it?
This dress was also pretty darn sweet to my wallet/bank account since it was like $25.

Probably my favourite pairs of flats ever. I've run into the subway stairs a couple of times so the toe area is a little scuffed which is a bit sad but I still love it.

Anyways, tomorrow is Casual Friday! Which means I can wear a skirt and a t-shirt. Thank god!
Anyone have any exciting weekend plans?

Summer 2012 BUCKET list

I guess this is supposed to be my summer 2012 list.
It's kind of lame and I'm sure if I think of better things I'll add it on the list but so far, these are the only things I could think of off of the top of my head.
It's not flashy or extravagant but I still want to do em :)

3. Margaritas on the beach
4. Road trip!
5. Go to Six Flags with my boyfriend

Love this game

So I don't really remember if I told you all, but I am an international relations major.
I usually work with Asia (I know the culture well), Europe (Took many classes in it and minor in European history), and Middle East (took many classes, primary focus).

I have a really IR related job. I work with Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
And there's this amazing thing called Sporcle, which I'm sure all of you know about. (Hey, procrastination, right?!) So I decided to do the Countries of the World one and see how high I'd score, since, you know, I'm an IR major and have an IR related job and all. And you'd think that I got 196/196, right?
WRONG!

113 out of 196.
Oomph. That's all I could say. I forgot really obvious ones like Peru since I was so busy thinking about places such as Vanuatu and Tonga (no offense to those in Vanuatu or Tonga).
Well, that was embarrassing. I'm sure it'd be fine if I wasn't doing IR, but since I'm supposed to know about the world... Haha.

However, it did make me feel like I need to step up my country knowledge a tad more.

Not going to lie, Africa and the Caribbeans are definitely my weakests. And I don't really deal with them at work unless the person who is in charge of Africa is out sick or something. I suppose I just have to study on my own time!

I'm also not going to lie that I'm shaky with spellings for some of the countries. Bah.

Anyways, classy is knowledge as well, in my opinion. So ladies and gentlemen, I suggest you hone up your country skills as well! ;-)
Have you tried playing it before? How did you do?

Current lusts

Hello hello! Sorry I have disappeared for such a long time!
My schedule in the past 12 days has been as follows:
Work--> Class (or Essay)--> Sleep --> Work--> Class... and on and on and on.
I haven't had a sufficient amount of sleep in days! What happened to lazy summer?
I promise I will be more regular with my blogging. Well, I will promise to try to be more frequent.

My current lust is this beauty:
Circle Eyelet Dress from J. Crew
Love, love, love the classic style!!
Although not going to lie, that would be an expensivo purchase...
But I just love everything about the dress! It's just so classy. Perfect for Classic Loving, right?

Another fave that I'm lusting over:
Factory Floral Embroidered Cap-Sleeved Dress from J.Crew
I love the gray colour and the flower print all over it.
It's simple and also probably easy to wear, and great for work.
I like the cap sleeve and you can't see it in this photo but I love the neckline on the back.

Both of these would work so well at business-casual attire workplaces! Especially with a cardigan or a blazer, they would be just perfect. And if I actually saw these dresses in real life and thought that they were too casual, I could still wear them on Casual Fridays without any problems.

These would definitely make me a "stylistic" working lady, no? ;-)

2012 Summer Lilly Dresses

Hello hello!!
It's already June! And that means we're almost halfway done with the year.
Unbelievable!!

I don't know what all of y'all have been up to, but I have been quite busy.
I've been interning at a office in the city during the day and taking classes at night, and also studying for the GREs on the side. Oomph.

Living at home also gives me a great social life. Sarcasm right there. Driving 30 minutes does not seem like a long time, right? But when everyone else live within 10 minutes of walking distance to each other and you're the only one who is a 25-minute drive away, it makes you feel like a pooper. And yes, I just used that word. Clearly I'm bummed, so cut me some slack.

Anywhoo, I am loving the current Lilly collection dresses.
I was going to write the post on the current Lilly everything, but I just loved everything too much to do in one post so I'm just going to post about the dresses for today ;-)

I am in LOVE with this dress- the style and the colours, and then the prints! ADORABLE!
I could just about wear this anywhere except for my internship. Bah- I wish I had the money right now!

I love the bold prints and the kind of tunic-y style of the dress. Very summer-esque.
I could probably wear this dress for Casual Friday. It's so bright and happy!

I love the pink and navy (again, my favourite colour combo!) and the bow/twist thing!
I think it's perfect for the fancy summer occasion- although I do admit, I wouldn't really know where to wear it to, but I'm sure the lad would appreciate it if I dressed up for one of our dates :-)
It's so cute!! I love the shell lining too. It's so precious.

And of course, it wouldn't be Classic Loving if there weren't any navy pieces, right? ;-)
I love the bold shells and the starfish- it would definitely be a "summer" kind of dress.
Love, love, love it. Although this dress is the type of dress that you definitely have to see with your own eyes to decide whether you actually like it or not.

MarieKate Dress
And last but not least, the MarieKate Dress. The lace is adorable. Love it. It's sweet but not too sweet. The breast area is not my taste but I like the sleeves and everything else so it's still great :)
I wish I was more into white dresses when I graduated from high school. My school had a white dress only rule for female graduates, and although my grandmother got me a dress from Rugby Ralph Lauren, since I thought I'd never wear it again, I felt bad buying such a nice dress and ended up just wearing my Forever 21 dress instead. Boy, was I wrong. Out of all of the "dressy" dresses I own, I wear my whites the most- I am in a sorority after all ;-) Wish the 18 year old me knew it back then! Anywhoo- this would be such a cute addition to my whites.

Bah! I wish I had the occasions/money to buy all of these dresses. Honestly, they're adorable and great and I'm in love. With dresses. I know. But forgive me, but a working girl's gotta dream, right?
Which current Lilly dresses are your favourites?

xoxo
