Summer 2012 To Do List

As I said before, it's my last summer before I graduate college.
And it's terrifying but since I know that it's my last one, I want to make it count.
So I decided to make a Bucket List for Summer 2012!
...But I am also a rising senior. IE I just had to make an actual to do list first with things that I need to complete... haha.

1. Get an A in this summer course I am taking right now
2. GRE Prep
3. Look up grad schools
4. Look up potential employers and their application due dates
5. Clean out my room

Oh my... I have quite the list to go! And they're all about academics haha.
At least I've got my new Vera Bradley notebook to write everything down on, right?
I got a card in the mail about 20 dollars off of a 20 dollar purchase so of course I would get office supplies, haha :)

Anyone else feel like they're still not on break, even if they're on a summer break?

Darling Desks

I've moved back home from school for the summer.
It's my last summer as a college student and also probably the last at my home.
And oh my god. The things I own have definitely increased over this year!
I actually can't fit everything in my room. WHAT HAPPENED?!?!
My desk is especially a nightmare. Since I never spend time in my room (I've gone back for a month or so every summer and I usually waitress insane hours) and I don't use my desk, I haven't really bothered to really clean the top of it since I left for boarding school.
Yeah... It's preeeeetty bad.
So I've been lusting over pretty desks.

I love love love this desk! And its light blue colour.
Desks in a closet is the most adorable thing ever and the flower prints.
I'm not much of a crafter so it will definitely be less crafting supplies if I did this, but the concept is adorable.

Can I say TO DIE FOR?!?!
White, pink, and green! The pink storage boxes are adorable.
I just want to grab this desk out of the photo and put it in my room.
Also the LOVE book ends. Love it.

Love the simplicity of this desk. I also love the white.
Clearly, the colours are usually the thing that gets me, ahaha :)
I like how you can stick things onto the wall like that.

Not only do I love the colours (hint: this blue shade is clearly one of my favourites haha), I love the concept.
It's so cute that you share a desk space with someone. It kind of reminds me of freshman and sophomore year of college... but cuter.
This is so adorable :)

I could pull up so many more of these, but I think I will stop here for now.
Anyone else have any gorgeous desks? :)

Grades :)

School is OUT, summer is HERE!!!
I finally finished exams and finals- I am free!!
If that wasn't enough, I reached my cumulative GPA goal of the semester, and also earned the highest GPA that  I've ever gotten.

I've had so many personal problems- my housemates are well aware, haha- and so many health problems but I have come through, and I have done it!!
I'm so so excited. I think, this semester, I learned that if you work your butt off, it pays off :)

Stress Tips

I'm done with my international law class FOREVER!!
It was my hardest exam, and although I have 3 more to go, since I'm done with my hardest one, I literally feel deflated.  But at the same time, I have been so, so stressed.
I've definitely been on the verge of break down multiple times in the past couple of times this week.
And then I realized that I give people pep talks about stress all the time. But! I never seem to follow them, so I decided that it would probably be good if I actually followed my own pep talks.

1. Get food delivered to you
I know this sounds weird, but delivery food makes me feel so much better. My personal favourite are Chinese food, sushi and pad thai. When ever I'm stressed, they always make me feel better.
If you're a college student, grubhub.com is a good place to order from!! :)
Sharing food with your friends make it even better too. If it's a quick delivery dinner I don't feel as guilty taking some time off to enjoy dinner  with my friends.

2. Paint your nails
This is also a tad bit weird, but it's really soothing to just sit there and paint your nails. It's also the perfect amount of time - about 15-30 mins so allowing yourself to watch your favourite TV show while you paint your nails, and then turning the TV off makes it the perfect study break!
I actually repaint my nails every couple of days. Looking for the right colour is great too. My personal favourite brand is Zoya :)

3. Take a nap.
Enough said ;)

4. Take a night off
Don't take a night off unless you actually can afford to take a night off, or you actually need it. But sometimes, just sometimes, a girl needs her night off to deflate and relax. She really does.

5. Prevent Yourself
Prevent yourself from getting into the same situation next time. If it's finals stress, see what caused it. If it was your not doing your readings, learn and from next semester, do em on time.

Yay everyone! We all got this :)

Reading Period Baking

Monday was the last day of classes and boy, I could not have been any happier.
I've had a rough semester and an especially rough couple of days, so getting my butt out of here is going to be so so exciting!!
Who knew that people still bought sweets on the last day of school? This girl didn't! haha.
My TA in European  history brought baked cookies, my history professor in another class brought munchkins from dunkin', and I got cupcakes from the EMS class I TA in. SUCCESS!!

Furthermore, since today was the first day of reading period, all these people brought snacks to the library to study with. Another success!! Furthermore, my dance troupe had our performance today- meaning that I don't really need to worry about my figure as much right now! YES!

Which got me thinking... BAKED GOODS. I love love love baked goods.
And I want to try to bake a bit more this summer. Sooo...

Nutella Waffle Sandwich Cookies!!
You only use a paninni maker! How easy is that?
Perfect for a quick snack. Yum. I used to make nutella white bread sandwiches in the dining hall all of the time.

Or these Easy Patriotic Cheesecake Strawberries!!
I have always been obsessed with strawberries and also cheesecakes. This is the desert for me.
But actually. When I have time I will definitely be trying to make them!!

And the Pillow Cookies
Yep, you guessed it. There are BROWNIES in these chocolate chip cookies. Talk about divine. And also fattening. But still.

And these Red Velvet Crepes
TO DIE FOR. I love red velvet. I love crepes. Great combination, no?
Plus I'm sure you can substitute Mascarpone filling for something else if you're lazy like me. I'd definitely put in nutella, whip cream, strawberries, and bananas. YUM.

I can already feel my mouth starting to water (yes, at 131AM. I'm weird, I'm well aware)

Anyone else have any good baked goods recipes?
