Rainy Day Flannel

I love the rain when I'm listening to it in my warm bed at night.

It's a great background music,  you know? 

However, when I'm trying to get to work by 9AM after waking up at 7AM, and have to walk through the rain, I'm not so much of a fan. (Although my favourite Ralph Lauren navy umbrella makes it a little bit better.) 

In the rain, I would be ideally in a blanket reading a book. And ideally, I would be dressed warm and comfortably. And here's an outfit that I typically wear on a rainy, cold, bleary day.

I enjoy flannel. I really do. I also love, love, love plaid for some odd reason. It just works well with me. I wear a lot of men's flannel shirts too, since they're so comfortable. I would wear flannel with skinny jeans and plain coloured ballet flats. I might also wear leggings on a rainy day with these flannel (naturally, my shoe choice would change with the leggings, though).

Honestly, this is my go-to-staying-in-during-crappy-weather-look for most of the winter and even the fall. It's just so warm and comfortable!

Anyone else have go to looks for staying in in muggy weather? 

Current Lusting: Scalloped Dress

Tiered-Scallop Tank Dress 

My lovelies, I am in the middle of a dilemma. What to do, what to do?!

I am in love with this dress. This beautiful, not-sure-what-colour-this-is-but-tanish, scalloped dress from Old Navy.
I really like scalloped shorts, but I haven't really decided how I feel about it on dresses, but I think I really like this dress. I like this dress because it is just so classy and would look good as a summer-to-fall dress. Or a summer-to-fall dinner dress. Or summer-to-fall anytime dress. Or summer-2013 dress.

Except I've just sworn myself off from shopping. Because I spent way too much money in one week. 

The thing is, the dress is $24 on sale + shipping so I am really, really tempted to buy it. But tid bits of money all add up to a lot. So I really shouldn't. Sigh. What to do?

Currently Loving: Tan Dress

This is one of my favourite dresses this summer! 

I got it in Japan while I was there because it just look so perfect for business casual with a cardigan! (and even without one, since my office is fine with no sleeves as long as the straps aren't flimsy) 

It was originally over or around $100, but I got it on sale for about $35. Can someone say success? 

It's very classy and I love how the edges are navy blue. I also love the line of the skirt. 

The buttons have a golden edge as well, making it more interesting. 

I love the simplicity of the dress and the fact that I can wear bracelets and other accesseries without worrying about the competition of the dazzle (I'm tired, so excuse my odd phrasing haha) Also excuse my face as I have no make up on... haha It was just that kind of a day.

It would be appropriate for going out to dinner for a fancy or casual occasion.

Cheesecake Factory

I went out to dinner with a friend tonight! 

She's probably my oldest friend at my hometown at this point- we've been really good friends since sixth grade. Anyways, I haven't seen her in a while so we decided to grab dinner. YUM. At the Cheesecake Factory. DOUBLE YUM. 

I got the Chicken Lettuce Taco Wrap which was on their "skinnylicious" menu of under 590 calories (although I'm not quite sure it's a "diet" at 590 but hey, everything else on the menu is so high that it's okay!).

It came with two sauces, but I liked the sauce which is on the picture above better.
Anyways, it was an interesting taste- I was expecting something along the lines of P.F.Chang's lettuce wrap, but it was different- but in a good way. 

Although my hands did get extremely messy! 

Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake 

For dessert, I had the Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake. I always have the Godiva one, but today was a change! I had to take home around half of it but it was SO GOOD ahhh!


Anyone else Cheesecake Factory lovers like me? ;-)

Float Away

I am in LOVE with the Taryn Dress in Silk Chiffon from J.Crew!!!

I just love EVERYTHING about the dress. 

I think my favourite might be the neckline (is that even the correct term??) of the dress. I love that it's twisted- it adds such a nice kick to the dress. 

The flowy, romantic silhouette is just so breathtaking. 

I would love, love, love to wear this dress to my last fall formal for my sorority in the fall. My favourite colour is the spiced wine on top but I'm lusting after all of the colours...!

The wine colour is close to my prom dress for junior year of high school- ah, good memories...! haha 

I do really find the dusty shale (the mint green looking one) pretty too...
But my skin tone may not be the best match to the dress though.
Ah, what to do, what to do?!

This classy dress with a great touch of romantic feel will steal everyone's attention for sure wherever you go.

Anthropologie Dear Parsy Tote

This bag is adorable. I love how it's a letter/postcard addressed to someone. I've always enjoyed handwritten letters so that's probably why I like it so much.
Although not going to lie, I don't really know where and when I would use this bag, but I just think it's so cute.  
I just love the thought of walking through the city with this bag in my hand. I just love anything letter related :)
